Francesca Iofredda ‘10, David Leathers ‘15, Sam Fraser ‘19, and Kyle Fendorf ‘21 are CMC alumni working in interesting and important areas in the think tank and nonprofit sectors. In this one hour panel they will speak about their careers and answer student questions.
Francesca Ioffreda is the Vice President for Inclusive Growth and Talent Initiatives at the Greater Washington Partnership, a CEO-led civic alliance. She joined the Partnership in 2020 to launch the organization’s inclusive growth initiative and spearheads its efforts to advance shared prosperity and create the most diverse digital tech workforce in the country. She previously worked at Deloitte Consulting, where she served as Chief of Staff for the U.S. Smart Cities Practice. She has previously served as a policy fellow for former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, as a research Fulbright Fellow in Bogota, Colombia, and as Davis Project for Peace Fellow in Paraguay. Francesca is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Washington Business Journal 40 under 40, and a graduate and board member of Leadership Greater Washington. Francesca has an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a BA from Claremont McKenna College.
David Leathers is a social impact and sustainability professional with a decade of experience across private, public, and nonprofit sectors. He currently oversees new impact opportunities across B Lab's global network, building programs and partnerships that drive adoption of B Lab's social and environmental standards, contributing to the growth of the B Corp movement. Prior to B Lab, he was part of Deloitte's Global Purpose team, supporting Deloitte's commitment to impact 100 million people by 2030. He started his career in management consulting and has extensive experience working in the Middle East, always focusing on how to build a more sustainable and equitable planet.
Sam Fraser is a researcher and senior communications associate at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Claremont McKenna College. His studies at CMC focused on U.S. foreign policy and Latin America, and he has conducted field research on human rights and transitional justice in Argentina. He has also studied the issue of impunity for U.S. foreign policy officials for his undergraduate thesis entitled “The Catastrophe Artists: Understanding America’s Unaccountable Foreign Policy Elite.” His writing has appeared in Responsible Statecraft.
Kyle Fendorf is the Research Associate for Digital and Cyberspace Policy at the Council on Foreign Relations and previously worked at the Center for International Security and Cooperation. He graduated from Claremont McKenna with a dual BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics and Public Policy.
